Change the timezone on a CentOS Server

Change the timezone on a CentOS Server

Here's an easy way of changing the timezone on your CentOS server.

Please note that you need to have root access to the server in order to do that.

1. Choose the zone that you would like to use at:

/usr/share/zoneinfo/

2. Then backup your current timezone file:

mv /etc/localtime /etc/localtime.bak

3. Now create a link:

ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/Greenwich /etc/localtime

Note: Please replace the 'Greenwich' part with the zone file that you would like to use.

To verify that the change was successful, run date

This is it :)
